This 14th-century building has a small courtyard with a statue of Juliet, and, of course, the famous balcony. Many visitors take pictures here, and some even leave love notes on the walls. Inside, there’s a small museum with period furniture, costumes, and a display of letters sent to Juliet from people all over the world. It’s a busy spot, but if you go early in the morning, you can avoid the crowds.
Castelvecchio
Castelvecchio is a huge medieval fortress that sits along the Adige River. It was built in the 14th century and has thick walls, towers, and a bridge that connects it to the other side of the river. Today, it houses a museum with paintings, sculptures, and old weapons, giving you a look at Verona’s history. Even if you don’t go inside, the castle itself is worth seeing, especially in the evening when the lights reflect on the water. The bridge, Ponte di Castelvecchio, is also a great spot for a sunset walk.
Ponte Pietra
Ponte Pietra is the oldest bridge in Verona, built by the Romans over 2,000 years ago. It has been damaged and rebuilt over time, but it still keeps its ancient charm. Walking across it gives you some of the best views of the city and the hills in the background. It’s especially beautiful at sunset, when the sky turns orange and reflects on the river. The best time to visit Verona depends on what you’re looking for:
