What Lazise is actually like

Lazise is a lovely town and comune in the Province of Verona, in the Veneto region of northern Italy. It is located on the eastern shore of Lake Garda, about 120 kilometers (75 miles) west of Venice and 20 kilometers (12 miles) northwest of Verona. The name "Lazise" comes from the Latin word lacus, meaning "lakeside village," which tells a lot about its historical connection to the lake. The town has a nice historical center, surrounded by medieval walls and gates, narrow cobblestone streets, lively squares, and a picturesque lakeside promenade. Its history dates back to Roman times, and over the centuries, it became a significant settlement with trading rights and fortifications granted by Emperor Otto I in 983. The Scaliger Castle and the Church of San Nicolò are some of the town’s notable landmarks. Today, visitors go to Lazise to enjoy its thermal springs, nearby amusement parks, and the relaxing atmosphere by the lake.
